Communications Coordinator - COBA/Select Sires

COBA/Select Sires, Inc. is a farmer owned and directed Cooperative that provides superior dairy and beef genetics, reproductive products and services to benefit its member-owner-customers.  The cooperative serves dairy and beef producers in seven states in addition to the country of Mexico.  COBA/Select Sires employs over ninety sales and service professionals.  COBA is a founding member-owner of the federated cooperative: Select Sires Inc., Plain City, Ohio.

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for leading with the development and management of the organization’s various communication channels and programs.  The primary focus of this role is to implement COBA’s communication strategies and work toward gaining greater exposure in the market for COBA’s products and services.  This position shall work directly with the sales team and the organization’s customers to understand and anticipate their needs and goals.  The Communications Coordinator is challenged with successfully introducing external entities to the organization’s products and services through various communication mediums.

Major Duties Include:

  • Ad development, design, placement and documentation
  • Management of social media platforms and website
  • Tradeshow and event planning, organization, and development of support materials
  • Provide support for sales staff and marketing initiatives

Successful Candidate Will:

  • Be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress
  • Possess good communications skills: written and verbal
  • Function well in a team-oriented environment
  • Be creative and proficient in graphic design and web management
  • Be able to take direction well and work under deadlines
  • Be highly motivated and self-starting
  • Be willing to do whatever necessary for the good of the organization

Background in dairy, beef, cooperatives, communications and web design a plus. 

The position is full time and will be located in Columbus, Ohio at the headquarters of the cooperative.  Benefits include salary, health insurance, and 401K.
